Other Programs
For 100 years, LYDIA Home Association has been strengthening families to care for children, and caring for children when families cannot.
What began as a small group of individuals humbly trying to meet the most basic clothing needs of children living in an orphanage, has grown into a worldwide organization where children can find comfort and rest while seeking healing and freedom from the traumas of their past.
LYDIA is based in the Northwest side of Chicago and serves those at-risk by providing a continuum of services with the aim of improving children’s lives and restoring families.
International: Romania – Alex and Sharon Zorzoliu, as part of LYDIA International, are committed to responding to the needs of children and families in Romania. They work with poor families and those in crisis situations. The physical goals are to see families stay together to have a chance at a future and to break the cycle of poverty.
International: France – Serving disenfranchised children in Southern France.
LYDIA’s Counseling Center opened in 1996 to help meet the many needs facing people in our community. Our services are available to individuals from all religious, racial, and economic backgrounds. Services include the following:
Counseling for children, teens, adults, and families
Marital and premarital counseling
Parent-child interaction therapy
Psychological evaluations
Consultations to pastors, churches, community groups, and schools
And school-based training and workshops
Today, LYDIA Home Association seeks to build upon 100 years of life-transforming care for children by enhancing our services and expanding our programs through new and deeper partnerships with individuals, corporations, foundations, and local churches who also desire to make a difference in the lives of children.
